The FASTEST, The STRONGEST, The BEST!!!!!!

Everyday I think about how I can get faster, stronger, and better...

When I leave the gym, I have a little self reflection time and I think about what I should have done, could have done, or wish I had done...

I challenge myself by thinking that I could have gone heavier, I could have run a little bit faster, and I should have finished sooner.....

I see it in the kids and the adults alike, I think it happens to all of us or at least I hope so...

Even though it is not always easy, I hope every person challenges themselves, but knows that the race is within. It really doesn't matter what anyone else can do, it is all about pushing yourself to the edge of what is possible. It helps me to have others there so I know what is possible, to encourage me, and to push me, but when it comes down to it, I must challenge myself. Those questions should be welcomed and not discouraged. Somedays we are on top and sometimes not, but as long as we stay in the race, we are still improving!

If we all felt like a super hero in every workout, we would probably get bored and quit. So, thanks to all of those people in my classes that push me to be better, get faster, and do more! I am inspired daily and you are all super heros in my eyes!!!

And, here goes one more day of PUSHING!!!!

Effort

"Nothing great was ever achieved without great effort" Theodore Roosevelt

It is when your mind starts telling you that you should stop, that you should keep pushing to see results! If it isn't a little scary then you are probably not pushing yourself hard enough!

I am Crossfit because....

Left: Aug. 2008

Below: Aug. 2007

I am Crossfit because the workouts challenge me mentally and physically, therefore I challenge myself throughout the day to use that same momentum to complete daily tasks better!
I am Crossfit because I have Lupus, but it doesn't have me!

I am Crossfit because it gives me energy, strength, and most of all a great feeling to be alive!

I am Crossfit because it makes me feel like I can do anything!

I am Crossfit because the community is inspiring!

I am Crossfit because I want to be happy and healthy!

My purpose is to share life with others....When my body feels good, I feel good, and then I am able to help others more! However, if I do not make my body a priority, I have nothing to share with others.

I started Crossfit about 3 and 1/2 years ago, in Zach's bootcamp. I had been tired, sick, and had lost some weight before finding out that I had Lupus. I was bound and determined to get healthy, just to see if I could "outrun" the diagnosis. After a good 3 months of being the slowest runner and the biggest whiner, I quit bootcamp with the excuse that I couldn't afford it anymore, since I was a teacher. I was not willing to negotiate other parts of my lifestyle for my health, so I kept living the way I had been. At my "box" gym, I tried to recreate the excitement that I had in Crossfit, but quickly became bored of the treadmill and saw no results.

After 6 months of being out, I made a concious decision that I couldn't "outrun" my illness, if my health was not a priority. So, I picked up a side job, just to pay for Crossfit, and I went back to bootcamp. The old phrase "where there is a will, there is a way" is my motto! I frequently brainstorm about how I can do more, get more, and best of all give more!

My diet has changed from Taco Cabana and Miller Lite's to Zone friendly foods that give me energy, instead of making me want to take a nap!
I recently had to buy almost all new clothes, because I have dropped from a size 10 to a 4 and have lost about 15 pounds. I went from 32% body fat to 16%.
In 2009, I have a long way yet to go, but I hope to increase all my max weights, decrease my body fat a little more, and hopefully inspire others to love their body enough to treat it well!
What you put into it, you will get out of it!
I promise!
